Kelly Talbot loved great literature and great hospitality in equal measure. In 1981, he named this place after Barliman Butterbur — The Prancing Pony's warm-hearted innkeeper — and set out to run it the same way.

Awesome food and service. Plus establishment has a remarkable story of its origins. Lord of the Rings connected Outside patio that's pet friendly even supplied a water bowl for our dog. Orange Mimosa was delicious.

I stopped in here for the first time on Monday. .I had the cinnamon twists (?). This is the best cinnamon “Roll” I have ever had. ..And I know my cinnamon rolls! This is even better than Cinn-a-bon!. Absolutely wonderful. Textured taste, consistency, and portion size. Boom! I will be back.

SST is a great deal. They have the best soup around and their pies are delicious. Outside dining patio is nice. There is also a small bar area inside.
